- Factor I, a serine protease, is a regulatory component of both the alternative and the classical complement pathway. Factor I is synthesized as a single chain precursor of 88 kDa, processed to yield the active form, composed of two disulfide-linked chains, the α-chain (50 kDa) and the β-chain (38 kDa). The concantration in plasma is 35 µg/ml.

HYB 061-01 reacts strongly with factor I. A strong reaction is seen with normal human plasma when used in sandwich ELISA in combination with a polyclonal antibody against factor I as capture antbody (e.g. sheep anti human factor I from Serotec). - Application 2
